This Thomas was probably the Thomas Searles of Melton , Twill Weaver, whose will, dtd 9 Jul 1584, proved 1585, makes the pastor of Melton his exec., asks to be interred in the churchyard of Melton, Suffolk, and leaves a bequest to his dau. Margaret Searles. (R 30/351; W 28/297)

This **Thomas appears to be the Thomas Sorrell of Melton who died ca 1684/85, leaving "a natural and legitimate" dau, Mary, wife of John Franklin, who was made the administrator of his goods. (IC/AA6/29/66)

He was apparently a widower, and may have been planning to marry Francis Lewis, when death occurred.
