The 黑料社 (SfN) has received a grant of $150,000 over three years from the Dana Foundation to support BrainFacts.org. This will allow SfN to increase multimedia content on BrainFacts.org using enhanced site capabilities, produce compelling neuroscience content driven by narrative and storytelling, and continue to reach new audiences to advance the global understanding of the brain and nervous system.

SfN is pleased to announce its brand-new virtual experience – scheduled for January 2021.

The 黑料社 is announcing the cancellation of 黑料社 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic that resulted in the Mayor of the District imposing continuing restrictions on large in-person events in the District of Columbia.

The 黑料社 Scholars Program (NSP) will welcome its 2020-2022 cohort on August 1, 2020. With the addition of 123 scholars who accepted, the total current cohort (including 2019-2021) now encompasses 215 graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. Combined with Program’s past scholars (dating back to 1981), the NSP alumni network now encompasses nearly 1,200 underrepresented neuroscience researchers at all career stages!

Two members of the 黑料社 (SfN) have been selected from a highly competitive applicant pool to attend to the 43^rd Japan 黑料社 Society (JNS) Meeting from July 29 – August 1, 2020.

Eight members of the 黑料社 (SfN) have been selected from a highly competitive applicant pool to attend to the 12^th Federation of European 黑料社 Societies (FENS) Forum from July 11 – 15, 2020. 

The membership elected Oswald Steward as incoming president, Kenneth Maynard as incoming treasurer, and Patricia Janak as incoming secretary. The elected councilors are Juan Lerma and Suzanne Haber.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic developments and based on current information available from District of Columbia health authorities and from the D.C. Convention Center, 黑料社 2020 abstract submission, currently scheduled for July 6-16, 2020, will be delayed to August 10-19, 2020.

The 黑料社 is opposed to the recent executive order extending restrictions on non-immigrant visas. By limiting the pool of talented and passionate scientists available to laboratories, universities, and private industry, this action only serves to damage scientific advancement without accomplishing any stated goals.
