Congress Passes FY25 Reconciliation Bill

The — dubbed the “One Big Beautiful Bill”— passed through Congress and signed into law on July 4. Budget reconciliation is a unique legislative process that is focused on major policy changes and allows Congress to bypass the filibuster that would normally require 60 votes in the Senate and only has implications for current (FY25) budgets and programs.
